Bio

The Rev. Gillis G. Goodwin, 90, went to his eternal rewards Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Rev. Goodwin loved God, country and family. He was a proud World War II veteran who served his country at the Battle of the Bulge, and he was a member of DAV Chapter 20. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel. Survivors: He is survived by his daughter, Glenda and Robert Vass; sons, Gary and Tracy Goodwin and Douglas and Sarah Goodwin; grandchildren, Aaron and Sharon Vass, Natalie Goodwin and Tristan Goodwin; great-grandchildren, William and Bella Vass; sister, Ritchie Mae Hunter; along with a host of other family and friends.
