George was first married to Wanda Naioma Brewer and they had one child Cynthia Jo Cikanek. Cindy married Patrick Champ Archibald and they had two children Brent and Lori. George married second Naomi Thomas on July 6, 1942 in Athens, Henderson Co, Texas. He worked at Chance Vought Aerospace Dynamics and so did his wife. After they retired they moved to Athens. The Athens Review George Joe Cikanek Services for George Joe Cikanek, 75, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with the Rev. Bob Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens. Mr. Cikanek died Aug. 1, 2000, at East Texas Medical Center Athens. He was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Ennis to the late Antone and Mary Zaludek Cikanek. He was retired from Chance Vought Aerospace Dynamics as a welder and resided in Athens for 18 years. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Naoni Cikanek of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Jo and Pat Archibald of Grand Prairie; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Virginia and Bob Andrews of Rockport; grandson, Brent Archibald of Grand Prairie; granddaughter, Lori Archibald of Grand Prairie; sister, Emma Trojacek of Ennis; one nephew; and two nieces. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cikanek, Norman Ponder, Raymond Navarro, David Del Bosque, Gene Lewis and Ryan McFalls. Honorary pallbearers will be Royce Thomas, Doyle Harris and Jake Starr. Family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cedar Creek Lake, 104 S. Terry, Malakoff., Texas 75148.
