Bio

Ila married Lloyd Warren Barleen May 14, 1941. After they married, they lived on the A. J. Kelly farm northeast of Norway Kansas and farmed. Lloyd ran the Co-op Oil Company in Norway, Kansas in the late 1940s. In 1950 he sold the business to Russell Fraser and the Barleen family moved to Riley, Kansas. They lived in Riley, Waterville, and Concordia, Kansas. They founded the Barleen Family Country Music Dinner Theatres in Estes Park, Colo., and Apache Junction, Ariz. Ila worked with costumes and meals until her death. Children are Jan Barleen, Waterville; Jim and Karen Barleen, Ben Barleen; Beth; Barbara Barleen; Brenda Barleen; and Jeff Barleen. A son, William Martin, preceeded her in death in 1979.
