Cooper Review-February 4, 1971-Will Hooten, 85, a lifetime resident of Delta County, died about 4AM Friday, January 29, at his home in the Yowell Community. He was born in Klondike, May 17, 1885, the son of Robert and I. Jane (Moore) Hooten. Mr. Hooten is survived by two sons, O.B. Hooten of Cooper, Delbert Hooten of Ft.Worth; six daughters, Mrs. Bessie Peebles of Yowell, Mrs. Mamie Adair of Klondike, Mrs. Pauline Brown of Commerce, Mrs. Freda Gillean of Klondike, Mrs. Bobbie Garrett of Yowell and Mrs. Clyde Allen of Klondike; three brothers, Ed Hooten of Klondike, Horace Hooten of Commerce and Ernest Hooten of Paris; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. Final rites for Mr. Hooten were held at 2PM Sunday in the Klondike Church of Christ, J.D. Wheeler of Paris and J.D. Lancaster of Yowell officiating. Internment was made in the New Klondike Cemetery, under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
