Bio

Cooper Review-November 23, 1972-Funeral services were held at 2PM Tuesday at the Klondike Church of Christ for W.E. "Ed" Hooten, 95 years of age, with J.D. Lancaster of Longview officiating. Burial was made in the New Klondike Cemetery, under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. Mr. Hooten passed away Sunday afternoon at 4:45PM in Delta County Nursing Home, where he had resided the past four years. A resident of Delta County all his life, he was born July 1, 1877 in Klondike, the son of Robert and Jane (Moore) Hooten. He was a farmer and a member of the Klondike Church of Christ. In 1898, he married Ola H. Hudson and she preceded him in death in 1962. Mr. Hooten is survived by one son, Douglas B..Hooten of Klondike; one daughter, Mrs. Hoyt Williams of Dallas; two brothers, Ernest Hooten of Paris, H.V. Hooten of Commerce, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wesley Wallace, Gilbert Sansing, William H. Hunt, John McCombs, Harold Anderson and Dalton Bookout.
