Cooper Review- October 25, 1973--Curtis Raymond "Cap" Hooten, 67 years of age, died at 10:05AM sunday in St. Joseph Hospital in Paris. His home was at Klondike, Route one. Mr. Hooten was born January 16, 1906, in Delta County, the son of Tom and Bertha (Wages) Hooten and had lived here all his life. He married the former Hester McGee at Klondike, January 19, 1923. He had farmed, driven a school bus and worked for the county. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Klondike Baptist Church, with the Rev. O.E. Short officiating. Internment was made in New Klondike Cemetery. under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Charles Ingram, Roy Lee Moore, D.A. Bigony, Everett Jones, Danny Hooten and Dick Hooten. Mr. Hooten is surived by his wife, Mrs. Hester Hooten of Klondike; one son, Shirley Ray Hooten of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Dickey of Dallas; one brother, Earl Hooten of Rockwall; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Brack, Mrs. Vivian Robnett, both of Dallas; two granddaughters, Marianna and Diana Hooten of Houston, several nieces and nephews.
