Belleville Telescope - March 19, 1925 FRANK MORAVEK Frank Moravek passed away at his home in Munden, Kansas, Monday, March 9, 1925 at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 17 days. Funeral services were conducted at his place of residence March 11 by Rev. Paroulek of Wahoo, Nebr. and further services were held in the U.B. church in Esbon, Kansas by Rev. C.A. Fisher of Ellsworth and the remains laid to res in the Esbon Cemetery. Frank Moravek was born in Bonemia, September 22, 1850. He came to America when seven years of age with his parents who settled first at Solan, Iowa where he lived 20 years. In 1877 he moved to Republic County, Kansas, where he lived one year; then in 1878 he moved to Jewell county, Kansas, near Otego, where he took up a Government homestead. Here he resided until 1916. In 1871 he was united in marriage to Catherine Houdek of Munden, Kansas. To this union were born two children who are both living. They are Bertha Rezok and Anna Jelinek. He moved back to Republic county, Mundcn, in 1916 where he lived until the time of his death. He leaves to mourn: wife, two daughters, three grandchildren. three sisters and five brothers, two brothers having passed away previously. Mr. Moravek was a kind father and husband, a good neighbor and citizen. ‘Oh, why should the spirit of mortal be proud. Like a swift fleeting meteor, a fast flying cloud. A flash of the lightning, a brake of the wave, He passeth from life to rest in the grave. The leaves of the oak and the willows shall fade, Be scattered around and together be laid. And the young and the old, and the low and the high Shall moulder to dust and together shall lie."
