Bio
PAULINE CARRIGAN In loving memory of Pauline Irene Carrigan, Aug. 8, 1915 - July 27, 2009. She was born in Beloit, Wis., to Carl and Merle Luttig. In 1930, Pauline, along with her parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles moved to Sandy Valley to homestead land. The family later moved to Las Vegas. In 1935, Pauline married Chet Carrigan and had two children, Gary Arthur Carrigan and Wava Lorraine Carrigan. At the time of her passing, she had six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She has one living brother, Duane Luttig of Eugene, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chet Carrigan; daughter, Wava Lorraine Hilton; brothers, Lloyd and Arthur Luttig; and sisters, Wava Luttig and Lorraine Doty. Pauline was present for the early days in Las Vegas' history. She saw much growth and many changes. She even marched in the Heldorado Parade several times. She was a member of the 10th Street Assembly of God Church and helped in the building of Trinity Life Center. She was very active in her church and took many of the neighborhood children with her, starting a tradition that would carry on to the next generation. She had a love for family and antiques. She was very generous and would help anyone that was in need. In 1972, Pauline and Chet retired from the dry cleaning business and later moved to Pioche. Her beloved Chet died in 1981 and she was laid to rest next to him Aug. 8, in the Pioche Odd Fellows Cemetery. Published in Las Vegas Review-Journal on August 29, 2009
