Brenda was the kind of person who would do anything for anybody. I have yet to meet a more giving person. She lived the bible scripture, Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. She is greatly missed. Brenda Hilsmeier 1944 - 2009 Brenda Hilsmeier September 29, 1944 - August 03, 2009 Brenda Hilsmeier, 64, of La Porte passed away Monday August 3, 2009. She was born September 29, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Geneva and Chester Goodwin Sr. Brenda was a past member of the Moose Lodge 2117, Eagles Lodge 2753, V.F.W., and American Legion 521. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers James Durhmam, Willard Maddux Jr., and John Goodwin. She is survived by her husband Richard Hilsmeier, children William Bass, Jr., Larenda Bishop and Richard, Richard Hilsmeier, Anthony Hilsmeier, Kimberly Hilsmeier, grandchildren Richard Bishop, Jr. and Carol Lewis, Regina Langford and Josh, Chandler Hilsmeier, Spencer Braswell, great grandchildren Jeffery Bishop, Brent Langford, brothers Chester Goodwin Jr. and Annette, Roy Goodwin and Sue, Carl Knight and Marie, sisters Wanda Storey, Geraldine Lemons and Doyle, Sherry Putnam and Jimmy, Ruby Lehman and Richard, Carolyn Warren and Cliff, Barbara Swan and Alviee, brother-in-law Jerry Hilsmeier, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, including her best friends Patricia Cross, Barbara Johnson, Ann Carlson, Yvonne Standley, Donna Lapage, and Laura Garcia. Visitation will be held Friday August 7, 2009 at 5-9 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday August 8, 2009 at 2 PM at the funeral home with interment following at La Porte Cemetery.
