She and William H.H. Parks were the parents of 11 known children: 1. Sarah E. Parks 1845-1845 2. Samuel McAphe Parks 1845-1913 3. John William Parks 1848-1935 4. James Richard Parks 1850-1942 5. Benjamin Waidstill Parks 1853-1939 6. Thomas Alexander "Tom" Parks 1855-1931 7. Harriet Matilda Anna Parks 1857-1888 8. Tilatha "Ann" C. Parks 1857-1919 9. Charles C. Parks 1860-1931 10. Joseph 'Henry' Parks 1860-1941 11. Martin Eastwood Parks 1861-1862 Husband William was murdered by bushwackers during the Civil War, leaving Elizabeth with ten children: two teen-aged sons and eight children under the age of twelve, including five-yr-old twins and two-yr-old twins and an injured infant. Infant Martin died six weeks after his father. With the help of her nearby family members, Elizabeth reared all the other children to adulthood
