Bio
Georgia Haskovec Harris, age 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Ennis Care Center. Georgia was born February 22, 1928 to John E. and Pauline (Novak) Haskovec in Ennis, Texas. She attended school in Telico and Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1946. On September 5, 1948 she married L.D. (Bud) Harris in Ennis where they made their home. Georgia was employed by Sears for over 23 years as the phone sales supervisor. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, VFW Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge. Georgia is survived by one son, Les Harris and his wife, Karen, of Ennis; one grandson, Glenn Harris, of Austin; one granddaughter, Rachel Harris, of Abilene and one brother, Johnny M. Haskovec. She was preceded in death by her husband L.D. (Bud) Harris on May 28, 2009 and one brother, Johnny Haskovec. Visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Chapel with Rev. Craig Krueger officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Jones, Tim Stewart, Tommy Weatherly and Randy Wiemelt. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
