Ben Isbell Funeral services for Ben Isbell, 90, of Haskell, were held Saturday, June 18th, 1983, in the First Assembly of god Church in Haskell. Rev. J. C. Amburn, pastor. officiat- ed. Burial was in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Holden-McCa- uley Funeral Home of Haskell. Mr. Isbell died at 3:10 a.m. Friday. June 17th, 1983, in Rice Spri- ngs Care Home. Born December 20, 1892, in McKinney. he married Ruby Mae West, June 8, 1913. She died December 8, 1968. He moved to Haskell County in 1934 from South Bend. settling in the Post Com- munity southeast of Hask- ell. He was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen ‘Jiggs'; a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Wright; five brothers; a sister; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, and three daught- ers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Isbell of Cross Plains, Mr. and Mrs. Don Isbell of Dallas and Mrs. Lyla Mary Isbell of Paint Creek; and 14 grandchil- dren. Pallbearers were Dan- ny, Kenneth, James. Roy, Jerry, Bobby and Robert Isbell. --------------- Benny Nelson Isbell, born 20 Dec 1892 according to WWI draft card, and "Bennie" Nelson 20 Dec 1893 per WWII. Husband of Ruby. A family tree says he was the son of James Edward Isbell and Emma Huff.
