Raymond A. Pasket, 73, of Anderson, died Monday at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Raymond was born on January 6, 1936 in Anderson to John and Maggie Wrobleski Pasket. Having been raised on a farm in Anderson, Raymond moved to Houston after graduating from Anderson High School to pursue a career in metalworking. He quickly mastered the skills of metal working and worked his way up to managerial positions. Through his honesty and trust he formed many lasting friendships. On May 21, 1960 he married Dorothy Lebeck at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Anderson. When the company he worked for decided to relocate, he and Dorothy decided to start their own metal working business and in 1972, they founded D&R Specialties. Through hard work and dedication, this husband and wife team worked through the struggles of starting a business while at the same time raising their two sons. Raymond was very proud that his vision and hard work have endured and continued to grow. D&R Specialties has grown to a 48,000 square foot, metalworking facility in Anderson, Texas using modern computerized metalworking equipment. Raymond built many strong customer relationships because of his reputation of trust, honesty and dedication to quality. He was also proud that both of his sons have followed his lead and example into the family business. Family and moral values were always top priorities in Raymond's life, and it was always felt by his kindness, thoughtfulness, honesty, and love for his family. It was shown over the years by the many enjoyable times he provided for his family. From a handmade go-cart for his boys, outings on the lake, vacation trips, holiday BBQ's and gatherings, Raymond always found time to spend with his family. He was a man of his word and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Raymond also enjoyed traveling about as well as his outdoor hobbies of tractor, bulldozer, backhoe work and tending to his cattle and the fishing pond on his ranch. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy Pasket, of Anderson; his sons, Gary Pasket and wife, Janice, of Montgomery and Russell Pasket and wife, Charlotte, of Anderson; brothers, Floyd Pasket and wife, Albina and Albert Pasket and wife, Frances, all of Anderson; granddaughters, Julie Walkoviak and husband, Chad and Amber Pasket, all of Anderson; grandsons, Scott Pasket, of Montgomery and Alan, Gregory and Philip Pasket, all of Anderson; step-grandsons, Michael Katkoski, of Minot, North Dakota, Josh Katkoski and wife, Jennifer, of Austin and Jeremy Katkoski, of Montgomery; great-grandchildren Hannah and Nolan Walkoviak, of Anderson; and special nephew, Danny Pasket and wife, Sandra, of Anderson; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and a great number of friends.
