Funeral services for Faye Bruton of Monument, New Mexico, will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., September 22, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, 3321 N. Dal Paso, in Hobbs. Faye died at her home in Monument, September 17, 2008. She was born August 30, 1931, in Hamlin, Texas. There will be a private family visitation and interment will be at Pearl Cemetery in Monument. She married Sam Bruton October 23, 1950, in Lovington, New Mexico. Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope. Faye was an Avon representative for many years. Her favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys and she decorated her home with many Dallas treasures. Faye loved her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Monument Baptist Church. Survivors include husband Sam Bruton of Monument, New Mexico; son, Bobboy Sam Bruton and wife, Karrie, of Monument, New Mexico; daughter Penny Bruton of Monument, New Mexico; seven sisters, Inez Bicknell of Bowie, Texas, Kathleen Buckner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Glenda McKnight of Carthage, Texas, JayNell Nash of Odessa, Texas, Alice Kirkland of Odessa, Texas, Ruth Smith of Megarel, Texas, Faye Roach of Denison, Texas; one brother, Carl Brooks, of Mineral Wells, Texas; three grandchildren, Angela Wilson of Clayton, New Mexico, Samantha and Samuel Bruton of Monument, New Mexico. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Bill and Robbie Petty. Memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 1515 W. Calle Sur, Hobbs, New Mexico 88240.
