Sam Bruton of Monument, New Mexico, 77, married Faye Bruton on 23 October 1950, in Lovington, New Mexico. Sam served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lamesa, Texas. Sam had worked in the oilfield, but his true love was ranching. He was the ranch foreman for Snyder Ranches for 32 years. Sam was a member of the Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame. He was named the Working Cowboy of the Year in 2003. He was known as a storyteller to his friends. Sam's greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sam H. and Beulah Bruton; his wife, Faye Bruton; a brother, Mick Bruton; and a stepsister, Frankie Bullion.
