Cooper Review- Thursday, August 5, 1999- E.L.(Lester)Essary, age 98, of Klondike, Texas passed away July 27, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Commerce. Services were held at 10:30AM Friday, July 30 1999 at Jones Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Simmons and Rev. Lloyd Wilkins officiating. Masonic graveside services and internment was at Shiloh Cemetery, Klondike, TX. He was born March 1, 1901, in Korsugh, Mississippi to Joseph C. and Mary Ellen Lee Andrews Neighbors Essary. He married Autna Orena Moore September 20, 1920, in Needmore Community, TX. He was a member of Commerce Masonic Lodge #439 and joined and was baptized into the Needmore Baptist Church on July 29,1922, where he attended all his life. He was a Deacon in the church. Lester and his wife celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in 1995. Survivors include his daughter, Ilene Martin of Hurst, Texas; granddaughter and husband Brenda and Bob Schlappe of Fort Worth, TX; great-grandchildren, Steven Schlappe, and wife Michele of Waco, TX; J. Martin of Fort Worth, TX; Jennifer Martin and husband Marty of Pearland, TX; great-greatgrandson Nolan Martin of Pearland, Tx. He was preceded in death by his wife, March 20, 1996, four sisters and four brothers. Pallbearers were Steven Schlappe, J. Martin, Marty martin, J.C.Moore, Clarence Doolin and Linton Moore.
