SJ-R(Springfield, IL) - August 30, 2006 SPRINGFIELD - Minnie Malone, 96, of Springfield died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 22, 1909, in Altamont, the daughter of Thomas and Flora Belle Shane Ashton. She married Robert Carl Malone in 1929; he died in 1993. A daughter, Ellen Tracy, and son, Robert Malone, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Malone was a homemaker and self-employed seamstress for 30 years. She was a member of Riverton Christian Church. Survivors: five grandchildren, David and Robert L. Malone, both of Springfield, Linda (husband, Rick) White of Edinburg, Cindy (husband, Rodney) Barrow of Pawnee and Kevin Tracy and four great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. today, Riverton Christian Church, the Rev. Frank Lewis officiating. Burial: Wolf Creek Cemetery, Spaulding. Staab Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
