Bio

William "Dennis" Lord - Son of Solomon H Lord and Cassandra Kellum. Grandson of Aylesberry B Lord & Drucilla Green and Gabriel Kellum & Sarah Anderson. Brother of Chesley Gabriel and Louisa Verona Jefferson Lord. Half-Brother of Leticia C Lord, Solomon Wesley, Minnie Lee, Anna India "Indie" and Franklin Fair "Frank" Lord. Dennis married, before 1883, Sarah "Addie" Kemp, a daughter of James Joseph Kemp and Saluda Ficklling. Father of Arthur Albert, Saluda Alma, Eula G, William Eiland, Homer Ray, Sarah Ela, Herman Cullen, Kittie Lee, John and William Dennis Lord Jr. Dennis and Addie's census enumeration in 1900 shows them to have had 9 children, 7 living at the time. Sarah Ela and one other child had been born and died before the 1900 census. In the 1910 census, Dennis and Addie are shown to have had 11 children, 8 living. John Lord is the 3rd child of Dennis and Addie's to die young or in infancy. Dennis' father enlisted during the Civil War and died in an unknown hospital in Lake City, Columbia Co., FL. His place of interment is unknown at this time. After Dennis' father died, his mother married Solomon's younger brother, Albert Fair Lord. Dennis' TX Death Certificate lists Albert as his father, when in fact, Albert was his Uncle and Step-father.
