Bio

The Phonograph, Wednesday, May 18th, 1949, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. L. Moravec Dies Suddenly - Mrs. Louis Moravec died suddenly of a coronary thrombosis on Friday at the Howard County Memorial Hospital. She was stricken suddenly while about her household duties that day. And thus one of St. Paul's best loved ladies was called home. Emma Bartle, daughter of Frank and Veronica J. Bartle, was born at St. Paul, Ne., March 11, 1884, her parents being pioneer settlers of this community. She was graduated from St. Paul high school and Wesleyan University, where she majored in music. On June 20, 1906 she was married to Louis Moravec. To this union three sons were born, Clayton, Max and Daniel. Except for the first two years of her marriage, Mrs. Moravec made her home in St. Paul. She was a music instructor in the community since she was 15 years old, and took an active part in musical events of the town and surrounding communities. At the time of her death she had 20 music pupils. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic church, and was organist there for thirty years. She was also a member of Chapter AP, P.E.O. and took an active part in that organization. She is survived by her husband, Louis; a brother, Edward T. Bartle, St. Paul; three sons, Dr. Clayton L. and Dr. Max E. of Schenectady, N. Y., and Daniel F. a student at the University of Nebraska, and four grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday May 16 at the McIntyre Funeral Home and the Requiem High Mass will be said at SS Peter and Paul Church Thursday morning.
