From the Wolbach Messenger, May 18, 1967, transcribed by Linda Berney: Last Rites At St. Paul For Wm. Hood, Burwell – Graveside services were held Wednesday morning at St. Paul for William Hood, 88, of Burwell. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Mr. Hood was a former resident of this community, having lived on a farm south of Wolbach. He was found dead at his farm home near Burwell last Tuesday. He is survived by three sons, Norman of Burwell, Herman of Milburn, and William of Grand Island; three daughters, Mrs. Ray Loefler of Omaha, Mrs. Elsie Dawe of Burwell and Lula Cedar of Lincoln; three brothers, Lee of Wolbach, Thomas of Ogallala, Arch of Point Pleasant, N.J.; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Purcell of Eugene, Oregon, Mrs. Dora Warnemunde of Winside and Mrs. Viola Bowers of Grand Island.
