He was born on June 29, 1927 to the late Clarence Jordan Self and Lueda Mae Lewis Self. Mr. Self was a baptist and a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Winnsboro. He was a tractor mechanic and was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Marie Self; son, Scotty Lynn Self, step-son, Ronny Walden; one great granddaughter; one step-grandson and one brother and one sister. Survivors include his wife Helen Brewster Self of Sulphur Springs; sons, Joe Self of Sulphur Springs, John Self of Quitman and David Self of Dallas; daughters, Linda Horton of Morton, MS and Karen Naylor of Sherman; step-son, David Walden of Pine Dale, WY; step-daughters Janice Kahler Pedersoli of Winnsboro and Linda Singleton of Corydon, IN brother, Larry Springman of Waco; eight grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and eleven step-great grandchildren.
