She was a lifelong Marion resident, born to the late Glen Walter and Genievee Louise (Shultz) Chalmers. She married Hollis Thompson. They were divorced, and he survives in Texas. She then married Ernest Berger, who also survives. Mrs. Berger was a homemaker and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 10, Eagles Area 227 and the AMVETS Auxiliary.
