On double marker with Barto Swain (1905-1988); "wed Dec. 5, 1927" TOLAR, TX - Irene Swain, 90, a retired nurses aid, died Thursday, December 24, 1998, at a Stephenville hospital. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Martin's Funeral Home in Granbury. Burial: Rock Church Cemetery in Tolar. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. She was a lifetime resident of Tolar. She was a charter member of the Elm Grove Assembly of God, and a member of the Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barto Swain; five sisters; and one brother. Survivors: Son, Carroll E. "Buddy" and Alice Swain of Stephenville; daughter, Evelyn R. and Harry Wells of Garland; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
