Pratten, a veteran of two wars, died Friday morning at the Pershing hospital in Grand Island. Mr. Pratten, born in England, was the son of an English soldier. At the age of seven he was left an orphan and taken with other orphan children to Canada where he grew to manhood and then came to the United States where he located in Iowa. He was one of the first men to enlist in the Spanish-American war and was one of the last to return from the war. He enlisted in World war I and was in France when the armistice was signed.
