Arnold was a farmer in Needville, TX and went to the VA Facility in Legion, TX where he died a month later. He was the son of John and Rosie (nee Ondrj) Mikolas. John's father was born in Czechoslovakia and his mother was born in Texas. He was the husband of Annie Elsie Foss, married in Ft Bend County, TX on 5 Jan 1921 but were divorced by the time of his death in Jul 1944. Arnold served in the Army from 5 Aug 1917 to 21 Aug 1919 and served overseas from 18 Jul 1918 to 1 Aug 1919. Arnold was serving with Co L, 143rd Infantry Regt, 36th Division and went overseas on the Army Transport Ship Dante Alighieri departing on 18 Jul 1918 from New Port News, VA. After the war Arnold served with the Army of Occupation with Co Headquarters, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division and departed from, Breast, France on 28 Jul 1919 aboard the USS Princess Matoika arriving at Hoboken, NJ on 1 Aug 1919.
