The Oregonian (Portland, OR) December 4, 1998 ANNIE ALLEN A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, in Village Baptist Church in Beaverton for Annie Allen, who died Nov. 18 at age 85. Mrs. Allen was born Jan. 1, 1913, in Christ, Texas. Her maiden name was Strunc. She was raised in Christ, Alma, Ennis and Dallas, Texas. In 1936, she moved to Dilley, Oregon, where she and her husband were dairy farmers. In about 1975, she moved to George West, Texas, and moved to Beaverton in 1977. She was a member of the church. In 1936, she married Jack W.; he died in 1944. Survivors include her son, Robert of Garibaldi; daughter, JoAnne Allen of Beaverton; brother, Leslie Strunc of Ennis, Texas; sister, Agnes Kozlovsky of Dallas, Texas; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove. The family suggests remembrances to the church. Arrangements are by Forest Grove Memorial Chapel. ************************************************************************************* Date of husband Jack Winton Allen's death is 26 March 1943, chronic mitral valve problem (Death Certificate from Historical Records Vault of Washington Co., OR). On service registration card Feb. 16, 1942 hie is 6 feet tall and weighs 185 with light complexion and gray hair. His parents were Edmund Lee Allen and Annie Leah Rhode; Jack writes he was born in Pearsall, Frio Co., Texas as were most of his 5 brothers. The family moved to Oakville, Live Oak Co., Texas about 1937/38 based on newspaper accounts of obits of siblings. Brothers were Ellwood, Will Orr, Webb Rhode and Robert Bruce Allen.
