J.D. Minton Jr., 68, of Palestine, Texas died July 16, 2009, at the David Foster Hospice Unit in Palestine Regional Medical Center. Burial in Neches City Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey and Foster Funeral Home Palestine. He was born Feb. 7, 1941 in Bryan to J.D. (Jake) Sr and Ruby Faye Elrod Minton. He was employed by Select Meats for 18 years as plant manager. He was a member of First Baptist Church Neches. Mr. Minton was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Minton; and sisters, Linda Hosch, and Wanda Williams. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nina Weaver Minton; daughters, Donna Knowles and husband Couper, and Margaret Banks and husband David; son, J.D. Minton III and wife Sandy; brother, Robert Minton and wife Susan; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Dustin Michael Minton, Stephen Chad Minton, Bradley Wayne Minton, and Adam Banks.
