Bio
Joseph Adam Kopejtka was born in Walnut Grove Township, Knox Co., NE. Born out of wedlock to Frank Kopetka and Anna Brown; Joe had listed them as his Birth parents on his 1913 marriage license with Anna Belka. Joe was a kind and caring man. He was a farmer, an avid gardener, with a love for flowers, and specially herbs, using them medicinally for the family and neighbors. He was a gifted carpenter and journeyman. He and Anna always had an open home welcoming family and friends alike. He was blessed to have delivered all ten of their children at home. Joe suffered from diabetes the later years of his life. He entered into a diabetic coma during the blizzard of 1948-1949; and died in his farm house due to the disease.
