Daughter of Charles Sumner Price and Emma Florence Mart. She never married OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, April 29, 1976 PRICE Myrtle Marie Price, daughter of Emma and Charles Price, was born in Lucas County, Ia., February 2, 1896 and departed this life April 12, 1976 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Her early life was spent on a farm east of Russell and she attended the rural schools of Lucas County. From 1912 to 1916 Myrtle worked as a housekeeper and cook in other people's homes near Russell and in Chariton. She then moved to Nebraska and then to Ogden, Utah, where she worked for three years. In 1928 she moved to California and was employed for 13 years in the Rankin family home in Los Gatos, Calif. In 1943 she returned to Russell and made her home with her mother. In 1966 she moved with her mother to Chariton and after her mother's death in 1970 she moved to the Southgate Apartments where she spent five years enjoying her surroundings. Because of ill health in 1975 she moved to the Chariton Manor. Myrtle loved to knit, crochet, embroidery and cook. These talents she shared with others. Myrtle loved her family friends. Her parents, one brother, Kenneth, and two sisters, Dorothy Langston and Eva Chamberlin preceded her in death. She is survived by five brothers, Earl, Charles and Glenn of Hemingford, Nebr., Keith of Idaho and Fred of Chariton; four sisters, Floy E. Webster of Sacramento, Calif., Mabel M. Lee, Newport Beach, Calif., and Ethel Thomas and Bessie Price of Chariton; 11 nephews, 13 nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Wauneita McConnell at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
