From the Frankston Citizen April 28, 1994. Funeral services for J.H. Couch, 83, of LaRue were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Carroll-Lehr Memorial Chapel in Athens with the Dr. Eric Cupp officiating. Burial was in the New York Cemetery under the direction of the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Mr. Couch died Monday afternoon, April 18, at the South Place Nursing Home after a long illness. He was a resident of LaRue since 1991, and a resident of Anton most of his life. He was a member of the Lions Club in Anton and a member of the Lawrence Avenue Church of Christ in Anton. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Couch of LaRue; two sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Couch and Val and Jan Couch, all of Houston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lon Bevill of LaRue; Linda and David Watson of Flower Mound, and Mona and Tony Dickerson of Lewisville; a brother, Lester Couch of Anton; a sister, Estelle Davis of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Clint Whirley, Rick Whirley, Joel Watson, Jody Jennings, Paul Bevill, Jennifer Watson and Linda Ainsworth.
