Funeral services for Marie Praest age 95 of Dodge, NE will be Monday, June 29th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church-Aloys rural West Point, NE with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE with a Public Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends can leave online condolences on Marie's Book of Memories at www.kuzelka-minnickfuneralhomes.com. Marie passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Parkview Home in Dodge, NE. Marie Magdalene Praest was born November 5, 1913 in Cuming Co., NE to Charles and Anna (Faltin) Vogeltanz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE and attended grade school in Dodge, NE. Marie helped on the family farm and also helped other family members prior to her marriage. On October 4, 1939, she was united in marriage to John F. Praest at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. The couple lived on a farm north of Dodge, NE all their married life. Marie was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church-Aloys, its Christian Mothers Society, and Ladies Guild. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, and loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Survivors include- Children- Sharon and husband Jim Michaelis of Dodge, NE Dennis and wife Linda Praest of Dodge, NE Diane and husband Mike Schneider of Columbus, NE 9 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren 2 Great-Great Grandchildren Sisters-in-law-Marie Mittelstaedt of Mokena, IL Marcella Praest of Dodge, NE Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings-Carolyn Throener, Beatrice Schlecht, Irene Grewek, Milada Marik, Frank Vogeltanz and Adeline Semerad.
