"Howells -- Services for Milada Marik, 88, Howells, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, at St. John's Catholic Church here. The Rev. Paul Ortmeier will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery." "She died Saturday, June 3, 2000, at Parkview Home in Dodge. The daughter of Charles and Anna (Faltin) Vogeltanz was born Nov. 22, 1911, near Dodge. She attended rural and St. Wenceslaus Catholic schools. She married James Marik on Nov. 22, 1938, at St. Wenceslaus Church in Dodge. The couple farmed northeast of Howells. Following the death of her husband in 1951, she continued to live on the farm with her sister, Caroline, and her husband, Joe Throener, for more than 40 years. In December, she became a resident of Parkview Home in Dodge." "Survivors include one sister Marie Praest of Dodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother and four sisters."
