Graveside service for Mr. Walter Clifton Cobb, 77, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jerry Wilson officiating at Saints Rest Cemetery. Clifton was born in Naples, Texas on September 18, 1932, the son of the late Walter Dixon and Ethel Pearl Moore Cobb and he passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 in Nacogdoches. Clifton was a Methodist by Faith. He was a member of Daniels Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from Bright Coop after 40 years of service. He enjoyed wood working, coon hunting and family reunions and get togethers. Clifton took over as the head of household for his family at the age of thirteen following the death of his father. He farmed the land for his family. Many will cherish the memories and stories about Clifton's life. Clifton is survived by a daughter, Debbie Elaine Cobb of Nacogdoches; a brother, Windell Cobb of Naples, Texas; a sister, Lucille Cobb; nieces and nephews, Wade Cobb, Jeff Cobb, Ricky Cobb, Dale Cobb, Wanda Ragland, Marion Jacobs, Judy Jacobs, and Lura Ann Jacobs, all of Naples, Texas and Ronnie Jacobs of Houston. Clifton was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Zadie Mae Henderson Cobb, one brother: J.D. Cobb; two sisters, Polly Cobb and Paralee Jacobs. Pallbearers will be Dale Cobb, Ricky Cobb, Justin Cobb and Ronnie Jacobs. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Laird Funeral Home.
