Page 1 of Wayne County Outlook, published in Monticello, Kentucky on Thursday, July 10th, 1919 Pearson M. Bartleson aged, 69, died at his home in Elk Spring Valley Monday night of leakage of the heart after an illness of some months. Deceased was a son of the late William Bartleson. He was married to Hanna C. Oatts, daughter of the late Cosby Oatts, on November 15, 1882, from which union the following children survive; Mrs. W.C. Daugherty, of Harrodsburg, Mrs. J.C. Burton, of this city, Miss Ella Mae and Messrs. James and Roy Bartleson. Deceased was a member of the Christian Church, having joined in early life, and had served as Deacon and Elder of the local organization for many years. Mr. Bartleson had always been a farmer and was very successful. He had lived in Elk Spring Valley for many years. A short service was held at the house by Rev. J. Louis Piercy after which the remains were brought to the Christian Church for further services by Rev. Piercy. The remains were taken to the Frisbie Cemetery on South Main Street for burial. The honorary pallbearers were, T.J. Alexander, D.L. Tate, S.A. Rankin and John R. Wilhite. Active, J.M. Kennedy, J.W. Tate, J.H. Tate, S.H. Berry, Cecil Ramsey and J.W. Simpson.
