"Nick" Green Wife of Bill Longley Mother of Phyllis Green Taylor Merdell Annie Longley (July 18, 1923 - July 9, 2013) Merdell Longley, 89, of Centerville and formerly of Stamford, passed away on July 9, 2013 in Centerville, TX. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Stamford with Revs. Jacob West and T. C. Melton officiating Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6 until 7 p.m. Merdell was born July 18, 1923 in Haskell County Texas to W. R. and Addie Hardin. Merdell's family moved to Stamford when she was a child and she spent most of her life there. She married J. C. "Nick" Green on January 31, 1942 in Clovis, New Mexico. They were married for 34 years before Nick passed away in 1976. She married John W. "Bill" Longley on Feb. 8, 1979 in Stamford, Texas. They were married for 21 years before Bill passed away in 2000. Merdell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Phyllis and Lloyd Taylor of Madisonville, TX, two grandsons, Gary Taylor of Waxahachie, TX and Zach Taylor and wife Sara of Buffalo, TX, One sister, Tylene Howard of Visalia, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, two brothers, Leo and Wilburn Hardin and one sister, Cleo Raines. contributed by Don Haynes - per Tankersley Funeral Home
