Bio

Alphonse Anthony Vrba, 70, of 1402 Lisa, a retired Air Force veteran, died Wednesday at a local hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Rev. George Tzanakas and the Rev. Ronnie Maltush (Matus) as celebrants. Military graveside services will be at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Vrba was born Aug. 23, 1912, in Penelope. He was a 21-year Air Force veteran and a retired employee of the nursing department at the Waco Veterans Administration Medial Center. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Vrba; four sisters, Mrs. Della Burt and Mrs. Helen Newman, both of Waco, Mrs. Josephine Dvoracek of West and Mrs. Rita Snokhous of Leroy; five brothers, Eddie Vrba of Temple, August Vrba of Tours, Raymond Vrba of San Antonio and Tony Vrba and Eugene Vrba, both of Waco.
