Battle Creek Enquirer and News, Monday, Jan 5, 1976 Mrs. Francis Akins Mrs. Pauline E (Devereaux) Akins, 79, of 14532 Renton Road, died Sunday in Leila Hospital where she had been a patient since Dec 29. She was born near Marshall. She was a member of St-Joseph Catholic Church. Her son, Francis, was the first baby born in Leila Hospital, Feb 17, 1927. Mrs. Akins was the widow of Francis L Akins, who died in 1947. She is survived by sons, Francis L Akins of 22525 10 Mile Road, William P Akins of 111 St-Mary's Lake and Theodore R Akins of Rialto, Calif.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Kaarlo (Lucille) Wouri of Ashtabula, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great grandchild; several stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother Richard Devereaux of 709 Eastfield Drive; sisters, Sister Mary Magdalene, R.S.M. of Mount Mercy Academy in Grand Rapids, and Mrs. John (Bernadine) Sheneman of Traverse City. Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday in St-Joseph Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Richard A Henry Funeral Home.
