Mrs. Mary Hardin Dies Thursday Funeral Services Will Be held Here Saturday - Came to County in 1914. Mrs. Mary E. Hardin, 72, longtime resident of Wilbarger County, died at her home at 2529 Mill Street Thursday night after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at the Underwood Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. A. B. Hughes, pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Odell Cemetery, under the direction of the Underwood Funeral Home. Mrs. Hardin is survived by six sons, J. B. Hardin, S. R. Hardin, C. B. Hardin, and C. C. Hardin, all of Vernon; Sam Hardin, Victoria; and Bob Hardin, Portales, N. M.; one daughter, Mrs. Mamie Simmons, Childress; and 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Hardin married John J. Hardin at Silverton (actually in Wayland, Stephens County) in 1895 and came to Wilbarger County in 1914, settling in the Odell community where she had resided most of the time until her death. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. |
