Bio
Daughter of Lewis & Margaret (Mackenstadt) Bridges. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Leigh, Nebraska. Ruth attended Wilson School in Colfax County. After school, Ruth worked at home and took care of her parents until she was united in marriage to Edgar Wurdeman on September 18, 1940, in Wayne, Nebraska. Ruth and Edgar lived south and southwest of Leigh until moving on to the family farm in 1950. Edgar passed away in 1970, and in 1971 Ruth moved to Columbus. Ruth worked for Schwesers for six years doing alteration work. She also did private alteration work from her own home plus did babysitting for several families. Ruth was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she had been a member of the Ladies Aide, LWML, and different bible study groups. Ruth is survived by: Son - Dennis (Linda) Wurdeman of Leigh, NE Grandsons - Mike (Twila) of Leigh, NE Mark (Michelle) of Columbus, NE Matt (Michelle) of Columbus, NE Daughter - Eunice (Lee) Settgast of Anaheim, CA Grandson - Brad (Ronda) Settgast of Huntington Beach, CA 18 Great Grandchildren 3 Great-Great Grandchildren Ruth was preceded in death by: Parents - Lewis and Margaret Bridges Husband - Edgar Wurdeman Infant Son & Infant Daughter Granddaughter - Christine Cooper Infant Great Granddaughter Brother - Earl Bridges
