Bio

John seved during World War II as a Staff Sergeant: 346th Bombardment Squadron. Entered in 1942. His specialty was airplane and engine mechanic. Served at Adennines, Po Valley, Rhineland, Central Europe, mostly in air combat. He purchased the Wolf home place and farmed for the remainder of his life. John F. Wolf, 74, of Route 2, West, a retired General Tire employee, died April 1 at a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Chrisitan burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 3 at St. Martin's Catholic Church at Tours, Monsignor Frank Miller as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery. Mr. Wolf was born Aug. 6, 1911, in Tours where he lived all his life. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church and St. Martin's Society. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include: two sisters, Elizabeth Wolf of West and Sister Mary Lucretia of San Antonio; and a brother, Leo Wolf of San Antonio. Pallbearers will be: Kyle Heitmiller, Edward Hennig, Floyd D.
