Bio

James Buchanan Dickey was born at Blue Lake in Houston County, two months after the family arrived from Franklin County, Tennessee, by covered wagon. The family later moved to Leon County, where James was raised. He married Mary Palona Perry in Walker County on July 31, 1878. After living for several years in Walker and Madison Counties, the couple moved to Limestone County. They were living in Walker, however, when James died in 1928.
