Bio

Taylor County Republican (Bedford, Iowa), Thursday, August 30, 1883 —A sad accident occurred on Monday last at the residence of Mr. Samuel Harley, about two miles and a half northwest of town. His little daughter [Pearl], aged about fourteen months, and just able to walk a little, was playing at a tub in which there were a few inches of water. It by some means fell into the tub head foremost, no one being present at the time. When discovered the little one's face was immersed in the water and it was dead. Dr. Weidner was called and every effort was made to resuscitate it, but in vain.
