Robert H. Casperson, 76, died Oct 12 in Tooele, Utah. He was born Jan 12, 1911 in Preston, Idaho, to John William and Edna Maughan Casperson. Mr. Casperson grew up in Banida, Idaho, and later studied forestry at Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. After attending college he moved to Montana, where he married Gladys Marie Garst. During World War II, Casperson was employed at the Naval Air Station at Kodiak Island. His family later moved to Fairbanks, where they homesteaded and made their home for many years. Casperson was a mechanic. He lived in Grantsville, Utah, for four years with his daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Ron Johnson, and his grandchildren. He was an adventurous person, enjoyed the outdoors and liked to hunt big game. He was a member of the LDS Church. Casperson is survived by his wife of Grantsville; daughters, Donna Marie Casperson of Harrisburg, Pa., Joan Johnson and Teresa Casperson, both of Grantsville; brothers and sisters, Nathan and Beth Casperson of Lava Hot Springs, Quent and EvaLynn Casperson of Odgen, Melissa and Howard Ward, of Boise, Idaho, Reese and Jolean Casperson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Owen and Dottie Casperson of Preston, Idaho, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Casperson was preceded in death by his son Robert Jr., and daughter Edna Mae. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday in Preston, Idaho, at 2 p.m. in the Winder Ward, with burial in the Logan Cemetery. Fairbanks Daily Miner, Fairbanks, Ak Oct 28, 1987
