Bio

Anna was born 26 Feb 1878 in Sittnow, Kreis Flatow, Westpreußen, Preußen (northwest Poland today, about halfway between Posnań and Gdańsk). ∼ She immigrated to the U.S. with her parents 26 Apr 1880, arriving at the Port of New York on board the S.S. Ohio from Bremen, Germany. The family initially settled in Wausau, Marathon Co., Wisconsin; then moved to Hammond, Wabasha Co., Minnesota Bet. 1881-1883. She was baptized and confirmed on 10 Apr 1892 at Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Congregation, Bremen, Wabasha, Minnesota. ∼ Anna married (1) John Schmidt in 1902 in Minnesota. They divorced before Apr 1930 and she married (2) Joe Hawley in 1934 in Hayes Co., Nebraska.
