Bio

Rodney Lynn Trevathan, beloved husband, dad, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 18th at the age of 73. Rodney was born May 8, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas to Ada and William Trevathan. He was the fifth of eight children. He served his country in the United States Army. He worked proudly for BNSF Railroad for 38 years as a conductor before retiring ten years ago. He is preceded in death by his father, William Trevathan, his mother, Ada Trevathan, two brothers Wilford Trevathan and Dale Trevathan, as well as his three sisters Elizabeth Ely, Wanda Jerdin, and Sudie Caroll, and a daughter Dee Dee Wood. Rodney is survived by his wife of 38 years, Dorothy Trevathan, his brothers Aubrey Trevathan and Larry Trevathan, his son Bill Trevathan and wife Teresa of McClean, his daughter Charlene Davis and her husband Joshua, as well as his son Shawn Trevathan and wife Terri. Rodney leaves behind eight grandchildren, Micheal Wood of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Brittany And Cody Wood of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Tiffany Clark and her husband DJ of Claude, Texas, Contessa Trevathan of Claude, Texas, Dawson and Darby Davis, of Amarillo, Colton Trevathan, of Amarillo, as well as two great-grandchildren Nathan and Corbin Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rodney will be remembered for his contagious laugh, quick wit, and never-ending humor, as well as his undeniable love and compassion for all children, especially his grandchildren. He had the biggest heart, his legacy will go on for years to come, and he will be loved and missed by all. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Llano Cemetery with Robert Brown, pastor of Middlepoint Community Fellowship, officiating.
