Bio

John was the son of Job Akers and Sarah Barton. May 15, 1903 - Storm Lake Pilot Tribune - The remains of John Akers, who died in Des Moines May 6, 1903, were brought here for burial. The funeral was preached Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. A.S. Cochran at the M.E. church. Interment being in the cemetery east of the city with Odd Fellow rites, of which fraternity deceased was a member. Mr. Akers at one time resided in Storm Lake, he was about 21 years of age. Two brothers of the deceased reside in this community, Geo. Akers, north of the city, and Otis Akers, south of town.
