SPRINGFIELD - Martha I. Nally, 78, of Springfield died at 9 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at St. John's Hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Oliver and Hattie Lewis. She married John "Jack" Nally II on Sept. 25, 1954, at Blessed Sacrament Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, John "Jack" Nally II; two sons, John (wife, Edwina) Nally III of Riverton and James (companion, Joely Brown) Nally of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Johnathon, Monique, Devon, Nicole, Austin, Megan, Zach and Jaeden; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Ava and Nathan; a sister, Dorothy Wilson of Jacksonville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Martha was a Springfield resident for most of her life. She retired from General Casualties as a typist. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower and the Lanphier "Girls Club." She was an avid reader, but her greatest love was her family. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Staab Funeral Home, with Msgr. John Ossola officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
