Wesley Nels Jense, age 87, of Pleasant Grove, died September 15, 1990 at the American Fork Hospital. Born September 13, 1903 in Pleasant Grove, to Nels Thomas and Olive Adamson Jense. Married Mable Webb, June 28, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died May 24, 1966. Married Lucille Murdock, January 15, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. Active member of the LDS Church. Held many positions, including High Council for 10 years, Stake Clerk, Bishop of the Pleasant Grove 2nd Ward for six years, filled a mission to West Virginia in 1975-76, Provo Temple Worker for many years, Supervisor of the LDS Church Welfare Cannaries. He had served as Utah County Auditor. Was an accountant for Standard Oil Company, General Manager of Pleasant Grove Canning Company from 1943-1069. President of Utah Canners Association. Past President and Charter Member of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club. Served on the State Water Pollution Committee. Active in athletics, playing on baseball teams. He was in an orchestra where he played trumpet in high school and college, financing his way through college in a dance band. Survived by wife, Pleasant Grove; son, Gary Webb Jense, Salt Lake; four grandchildren, Wesley Eugene Jense, Washington D.C.; Mrs. Bruce (Lana) Bowles, Pleasant Grove; Dr. Holly G. Jense and Jonathan Allred Jense, both Augusta, Georgia; nine grea- grandchildren. He was the oldest child in a family of 6 children. Preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Keith, three sisters, Elizabeth (Dot) Chystal, Reva Linebaugh, Mary Washburn. Services will be Monday, 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove 2nd Ward Chapel, 800 North 100 West. Friends may call Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 So. 300 East, Pleasant Grove or Monday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial, Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
