The Pleasant Grove Review, Pleasant Grove, Utah, 22 Dec 1977 Funeral services for Perry Ralph Harper, 64, who died Saturday, Dec. 17 in the Utah Valley Hospital after a heart attack, were held Wednesday, Dec. 21 in the Murray 9th Ward Chapel, under the direction of Bishop Lerue W., Winget. Speakers at the services were John Duncan and Kay Hale, and Bishop Winget also gave remarks. Musical numbers were given by Richard Storrs, who sang a vocal solo, accompanied by Audrey Rowley. Mrs. Rowley also played an organ medley and prelude and postlude music. Prayers were given by Clive Beck, Bishop Paul Christensen and Barry Nightengale, and the grave in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery was dedicated by Dick Andersen. Pallbearers were Bill and Michael Harper, Scott and Kelly Beck, Jimmy Emmons and Michael Young. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Matern and Loyd and Vern Swenson. Perry Ralph Harper was born May 9, 1913 in Lindon, to Perry William and Emma Duke Harper. On Nov. 24, 1944 he married Marelda Emmons in Salt Lake City. He was an elder in Murray Ninth Ward. A veteran of World II Mr. Harper received his education in Lindon and Pleasant Grove. He worked for Utah Power & Light Co., on construction of Geneva Steel Plant and for the Bureau of Reclamation. He also farmed in the Lindon area. In addition he was employed by the City of Pleasant Grove and worked at LDS Hospital and Cottonwood Hospital as a dietary superintendent. Survivors include his wife; one sister and one brother, Max Harper, Lindon and Mrs. Lloyd L. (Ruby) West, Pleasant Grove.
