From the Frankston Citizen June 10 1993. Funeral services for Bessie I. Carter, 66, of Tyler, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6, at the Burks-Walker-Tippit Funeral Directors Chapel in Tyler with the Rev Lloyd McCaskill officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Carter died Friday afternoon, June 4, in a Tyler hospital after a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Lindale, and was a lifelong resident of Tyler. She was a housewife, member of the West Erwin Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Social Order of Beauceant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Price B. Carter, and a son, Gary D. Carter. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Glen and Jan Carter of Whitehouse; two daughters, Linda Sue Carter of Tyler and Judy Ellis of Flint; three sisters, Elva Mae Graham, Effie Lee Jones and Mary Ruth Webb, all of Tyler; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers included Harold Garrett Jr., Leo Britton, Robert Britton, Larry Garrett, Kenneth Jones and Charles Jones.
